The drawer probably wanted to show us the many differences between some countries of Europe : the different specialities or habits that have some foreigners.
Above all, he had the intention of showing the prejudices against inhabitants of some countries. It's true that when we think about Europe, or about a country like Germany, instantaneously, the first idea that comes to our mind, is a fat man, drinking beer with moustache etc. But -thank God!- all German people are not like that!
It's a preconceived idea about people who doesn't live in the same country as us; that a lot of people have.

As you see, it's very funny to imagine the perfect Spanish or Italian man, but when people start telling us the typical French man, it's not as funny as it was before…
The website where we found this picture is an English one. That's probably why there isn't any typical English man with the others.
But, also, it's true that it's a bit difficult to draw a representation of us, of somebody who has the typical French clothes or attitude; because we just don't know what are the preconceived ideas about us.
Or maybe we just don't want to know them…
