The landwas the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their religious and national identity was formed. Exiled from the land of Israel the Jewish people remained fathful to it in all the countries of their dispersion, never ceasing to hope and pray for their return. In recent decades they returned in their masses. They reclamed the wilderness, built cities and villages... and brought the blessings of progress to all inhabitants of the country. On 29 November 1947 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a Resolution requiring the establishement of a Jewish State in Palestine.
